The stretcher bars come in 20mm, 30mm and 40mm hard and softwood depths to form the structure for your canvas. Stretcher bars are all profiled with a quarter inch lip so as to allow for adequate clearance between canvas and underlying stretcher. The lip is minimal to prevent having any effect on your painting but solid and smooth to allow for easy stretching and to prevent denting.
The joinery techniques used allow the bars to create perfect right-angled corners. These slot together with relative ease. Once the canvas has been stretched over the frame corner pegs can be inserted to push the joint outwards, tightening the canvas without loosing any stability and strenfth in the stretcher frame.
